The unofficial Ed Gein museum let’s you step inside the jail cell where Gein was held after his arrest.
When Plainfield killer and grave robber Ed Gein was arrested on November 16, 1957, he was taken to the Waushara County jail in Wautoma, WI. Today, the old jail is the home of the Waushara County Historical Museum. The jail cells are part of the museum exhibit, so you can step inside the cell where Gein was held the day he murdered Plainfield hardware store owner Bernice Worden.
Some paranormal investigators who have visited in recent years believe Ed still lingers there.
