Bookoween

BookoWeen is Studio Moonfall’s annual Halloween celebration and shop-iversary, bringing an indie bookstore twist to Halloween in Kenosha. Held each October at the independently owned Studio Moonfall, the event brings together local and independent authors, books, Halloween-themed activities, and the shop’s famously eclectic atmosphere. The annual event also marks Studio Moonfall’s final outdoor event of the year. For 2026, BookoWeen takes over the shop on Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with free admission at 5031 7th Avenue in Kenosha.

Expect plenty to browse, including books by local authors and thousands of used books that have become one of Studio Moonfall’s signature draws. Past BookoWeen celebrations have featured guest authors, a costume contest, goodie bags for early arrivals, games, children’s programming, photo opportunities, face painting, and other Halloween entertainment. The exact lineup changes from year to year, so BookoWeen is worth checking back on as Halloween approaches. If your ideal Halloween involves digging through a graveyard of books instead of candy, this is one Kenosha event that belongs on the calendar.
