About
The annual Delavan Scarecrow Fest takes over the historic brick streets of downtown Delavan each September, turning the city into an outdoor gallery of handmade scarecrows created by local businesses and organizations. The festival’s signature Scarecrow Walk is the main attraction, with everything from traditional farm-style figures to weird, funny and elaborate creations lining the downtown streets. Visitors can walk the route, check out the competing displays and vote for their favorites while exploring Delavan’s shops and historic downtown.
The free, family-friendly festival also brings together craft and vendor booths, sidewalk sales, food trucks, live music, kids’ activities, free pumpkins, DIY scarecrow kits and other fall-themed attractions. Past festivals have included the Gee Funny Farm petting zoo, classic car show, photo opportunities and guided tours of Delavan’s Walldog murals, giving visitors a chance to explore the city’s larger-than-life historical artwork while they’re in town. The event is centered around downtown Delavan and Tower Park, with additional programming at the Phoenix Park Bandshell. Scarecrow Fest is a distinctly Wisconsin way to kick off the fall season, combining small-town festival traditions with Delavan’s unusual visual identity and historic brick streets.
