Held in the hometown of legendary game designer Gary Gygax, the “Wizard of Lake Geneva,” and the birthplace of Dungeons & Dragons, this city-wide festival invites visitors to experience the community where tabletop roleplaying history began. Whether you’re a lifelong adventurer, a fantasy reader, a cosplay enthusiast, or simply looking for a memorable family-friendly weekend, Dragon Days blends immersive entertainment with the rich legacy that made Lake Geneva a destination for fantasy fans around the world.
Festival activities are spread across multiple venues throughout downtown, including Library Park, the historic Birthplace of D&D at 330 Center Street, museums, theaters, gaming halls, and the public library. Visitors can browse a lively Fantasy Faire filled with artists, merchants, medieval crafts, fantasy merchandise, and live entertainment while enjoying costume contests, archery demonstrations, swordsmanship, musicians, circus performers, and interactive attractions for all ages. The celebration also features tabletop gaming, beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons sessions, author signings, fantasy story time, classic D&D film screenings, and opportunities to explore the history of Gary Gygax and the game that forever changed fantasy gaming.
