About
The Time Community Theater in Oshkosh is bringing back its annual Rocky Horror Picture Show screening for one gloriously inappropriate night of cult-movie chaos. This is no ordinary movie screening: expect dumb games, wild hosts, individual costume contests, a 50/50 raffle, and an audience encouraged to yell, scream, sing, dance, and participate throughout the film. The event is 17+ unless accompanied by a parent, while participants in the games must be 18 or older. Costumes are encouraged, and contestants in the Sluts, Assholes, and Bosses contests get a short window to win over the crowd and compete for prizes.
The interactive screening comes with its own set of Rocky Horror rules. Audience members can bring approved props including rice, newspapers, flashlights, glow sticks, rubber gloves, noisemakers, confetti, toilet paper, dry toast, party hats, bells, cards, sponges, and paper plates. Water guns, open flames, hot dogs, prunes, and other prohibited items stay home. About 200 official Rocky Horror Survival Kits will also be available for $5 each, packed with many of the classic props you’ll need to properly participate. Concessions, including beer for guests 21 and older with ID, will be available, and everything at the Time is cash only. Every dollar from the event directly supports the volunteer-run nonprofit theater and its ongoing effort to keep the historic downtown venue open and renovated.
