Wisconsin Frights
Remains of the stone crusher left behind in the qu Remains of the stone crusher left behind in the quarry by the Lake Shore Stone Company that operated from 1901-1925 in what is now Harrington Beach State Park.

A walk along the trails throughout the park will bring you to a few other notable locations where the area's dark history is still visible:

• Stone foundations of a few abandoned buildings that were part of the company town called Stonehaven

• The former home of Dominic Manna, who murdered fellow quarry worker August Falcineli in 1920, presumably because he had fallen in love with Falcineli's wife

• The anchor of the 245-foot palace steamer Niagara that erupted into flames and took the lives of 60 passengers with it to the bottom of Lake Michigan just off the shore of Belgium in 1856
