BaristaCats Café & Sanctuary for Wayward Cats

BaristaCats Café & Sanctuary for Wayward Cats is a nonprofit cat café and rescue located in downtown Whitewater that combines a coffee shop with an interactive adoption space for cats in need. The café operates as a licensed sanctuary focused on rehabilitating stray, abandoned, and at-risk cats by giving them a low-stress, social environment where they can interact with visitors. Guests can reserve time in the “Pawlor,” a separate lounge area where adoptable cats roam freely, allowing for natural socialization that helps prepare them for their “furrever” homes.

Unlike traditional shelters, BaristaCats is designed around engagement. Every visit directly supports veterinary care, housing, and rescue operations, while also giving visitors a hands-on way to meet cats before adoption. The organization works as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and partners with local rescue efforts to take in cats that need additional time, behavioral support, or exposure to people.
