Owner Bruce William Ayres has been at the helm since day one, riding the highs and lows of the comic book world with unwavering devotion. A lifelong comic lover raised on Little Lulu and Tarzan, Bruce came of age just as superheroes were making their grand return. He opened Capital City Comics during the boom of the ’70s, and through recessions, crashes, and COVID shutdowns, he’s kept it alive not with flashy gimmicks, but with heart. For Bruce, it’s always been about the people – customers, staff, and a community of collectors who know there’s magic in these pages.
