About
East Troy Railroad Museum in East Troy, Wisconsin, preserves the state’s rail heritage and operates Wisconsin’s last surviving electric interurban railroad. Visitors can ride historic streetcars, trolleys, and interurban cars along about seven miles of track between East Troy and Mukwonago, experiencing a slice of early 20th-century rail travel. The museum and Depot are housed in what was once America’s first automated electric substation, which supplied power to the railroad and the village for decades. Guests can explore educational exhibits inside the Depot, learning about the history of electric railroads and early power systems.
Beyond scenic rides, the East Troy Railroad Museum offers a variety of dining and specialty trains. Guests can enjoy lunch, brunch, and dinner trains, sip wine on the Wine & Cheese Train, or sample craft brews on the Beer Tasting Train, all while riding vintage cars through the southeastern Wisconsin countryside.
Seasonal themed rides make the museum a year-round destination: Bunny Trains in spring include scavenger hunts and Easter Bunny photos; Fall Harvest Fest Trains take visitors to orchards, hayrides, and corn mazes amid autumn colors; Trick or Treat Trains offer Halloween candy, games, and pumpkins; and Christmas Trains bring families to Santa’s Workshop with cookies, hot chocolate, and festive storytelling.
