About
Fort Dells McDonald’s in Wisconsin Dells is the largest McDonald’s in Wisconsin with two full kitchens to keep up with the volume of visitors surging through the Dells in peak summer months. It was built on the former grounds of Fort Dells, a beloved frontier-themed Wisconsin Dells attraction that operated from 1958 to 1985. Inspired by Frontierland at Disneyland, Fort Dells once staged Old West shootouts and immersive experiences for families passing through the Dells during its early tourism boom.
Opened in 2002, Fort Dells McDonald’s is designed like a massive Northwoods lodge, and it doesn’t hold back on detail. Inside, you’ll find carved wooden figures, antlers, and full taxidermy displays, including a mounted moose head and a silver fox.
In 2023, Architectural Digest named it one of the 13 Most Beautiful McDonald’s in the World.
