Jericho Haunted Trinity

Jericho Haunted Trinity is a former Catholic church, school and convent complex in Jericho, WI that has become one of the area’s best-known paranormal investigation locations. The first Holy Trinity Catholic Church was built here in 1871, followed by a larger church in 1881 and a convent and school in the late 1890s. A 1914 fire destroyed the church, and the congregation rebuilt with a brick structure in 1915. The present school building dates to 1930. Holy Trinity eventually closed in 2005, leaving the church, former school and convent largely dormant. The three-building property is now collectively known as Jericho Haunted Trinity and regularly attracts paranormal investigators.

Reported paranormal activity varies throughout the complex. Inside the church, visitors and investigators report heavy footsteps echoing through the sanctuary and basement, particularly sounds resembling boots or heavy shoes, along with motion detectors activating around the altar when the area is reportedly empty. The bell tower has been associated with disembodied voices, EVPs and ITC responses, while strange white lights and occasional red lights have reportedly appeared and disappeared around the property.

In the former convent, investigators report phantom footsteps in the attic, disembodied voices and unexplained EMF spikes.

The school has its own unusual reputation, including reports of distant choir-like singing on the upper floor and motion detectors activating in the basement without an apparent source.
