Tucked into the rolling blufflands above the Mississippi River near Fountain City, Kinstone is an extraordinary blend of art, nature, and ancient inspiration that feels like crossing the threshold into another era. Often called Wisconsin’s Stonehenge, this modern megalithic sculpture garden spans roughly 30 acres of bluff‑top landscape dotted with towering standing stones, multi‑stone circles, a classic seven‑circuit labyrinth, and a massive dolmen capped with a 13‑ton boulder, all intentionally placed to evoke sacred geometry and contemplation. Founded by artist Kristine Beck in 2011 on family farmland, Kinstone invites visitors to wander its mown grass paths, absorb panoramic river views, and pause among stone sculptures that seem older than time itself.
What makes Kinstone so compelling (and unusual for a Wisconsin travel itinerary) is the sense of connection between land, earth, and sky that permeates every feature.
