Standing 38 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 7,500 pounds, this enormous stainless-steel kitchen utensil towers over the grounds of the Food + Farm Exploration Center at 3400 Innovation Drive. Installed on May 19, 2023, the giant masher was designed as a larger-than-life symbol of Wisconsin agriculture and the region’s long connection to potato and vegetable farming.

The World’s Largest Potato Masher is both a legitimate agricultural landmark and exactly the kind of wonderfully weird attraction that makes a Wisconsin road trip more interesting. The polished metal sculpture is visible from the surrounding roads and makes an easy photo stop, and visiting the masher itself is free. It sits directly outside the Food + Farm Exploration Center, a 50,000-square-foot interactive agricultural education center with hands-on exhibits, a kitchen lab, farm technology displays, and demonstration fields, so you can turn the quick roadside detour into a longer visit.
