Profile
Dark La Crosse trolley tours take you into the seedier side of La Crosse history, where red-light districts, Prohibition, political scandals, murders and vigilante justice are part of the story. Presented by Explore La Crosse, the guided trolley experience uses local history and true stories to explore a side of this Mississippi River city that doesn’t make the typical tourist brochure.
The Dark La Crosse experience focuses on stories dealing with real people, real crimes and some of the more disturbing chapters in La Crosse’s past, including hot tempers, cold-blooded murders and grisly events. Along the route, the tour makes a step-off at the Pump House Regional Arts Center for a private theater performance, with refreshments included as part of the experience.
The trolley tour is a seasonal fall experience for adults looking for dark history, true crime and unusual things to do in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Tours depart from Explore La Crosse in downtown La Crosse and typically run about two hours.
